The Carriage Driving Sports Group for drivers with disabilities is a registered charity (Charity Number : 1143265) and promotes the health of disabled people through the provision of training and driving opportunities in sports driving.

The group holds a number of training sessions for drivers wishing to improve their driving skills. The CDSGdd would like to encourage drivers from across the UK to their training sessions and welcomes drivers from RDA groups as well as those who are not.
If you or your group or group's able bodied whips are interested in attending and would like to participate in the training, please speak to Martin Yemm or Margaret Brockie who would be pleased to provide you with more information
Training sessions will vary from venue to venue using a range of different trainers. Sessions allow all abilities the chance to improve their rein handling of horses, overcome their own obstacles and participate in social activities with other drivers challenged by disability from across the UK.
Training will usually take place at either
- provide drivers with superb opportunities to be talent spotted for International competition
- provide an invigorating environment for learning and development
- provide opportunity for drivers to enter into discussion with other disabled drivers and with coaches helping them to consider if and how they could further increase their own opportunities
Training during 2019
The CDSG-dd is arranging a number courses during 2019 for disabled carriage drivers and, if space allows, those who teach disabled drivers.
24-25 April, Unicorn Centre, Stowe - Training at the Unicorn Trust, Stow on the Wold. Please note that this is on a first come first basis. Please contact Margaret Brockie in the first instance if you are interested in attending.
The training is an opportunity for both groups and individuals to receive training from World Class coaches. The training is open to drivers challenged by disability and also AB whips who assist with either RDA groups or groups for disabled drivers.
As well as improving your own driving skills it is also an idelal opportunity to watch training and also view the many carriage, seat and rein adaptions that are used by drivers.
